New Facilities

One of the great benefits of living in a city that is as financially strong as Temecula is that we have a great ability to provide high quality and varied facilities. Our city is almost 17 years old. That’s still very young, but since we have had so much success in insuring that basic needs are taken care of, we can concentrate on the types of amenities that make Temecula an even better place to live and raise a family. Many new facilities have been recently built or are in the planning stages.

Our public library is the busiest in the Riverside County system. We need more room for people, books and community events. That help is coming very soon. The new 33,000 square foot Temecula Library will be open in early December. Overlooking the Rancho California Sports Park, it is one of the most beautiful locations in the entire city. I had the opportunity to tour the almost finished facility and you just have to see it to believe it. It’s absolutely spectacular!

Our new Old Town Community Theater just celebrated its first anniversary. In just a short time it has become a very successful venue for both local theater performances and well known entertainers.

Adjacent to the new theater is the Imagination Workshop, Temecula’s award-winning, two-year old children’s museum. The interior design is very unique and allows children to learn many scientific concepts in an atmosphere of sheer fun.

Sports fields for children and adult use are a problem in every city. There are just never enough no matter how many you have. Almost complete is our newest sports park off Pala Road in the southern part of Temecula. As with our other new facilities, it is a beautiful, state of the art complex with many amenities not found in other cities.

All of these are great new additions that our residents will be able to use and enjoy for many years. One of the best parts is that all of the facilities discussed are fully paid for and did not require that the city have any debt.
